Q2 How does roof pitch affect material quantity?
Steeper pitches have more surface area than a flat measurement suggests. A 12/12 pitch has about 41% more surface area than a flat roof of the same footprint.
Q3 How much waste should I add for roofing?
Add 10–15% for a simple gable roof. Hip roofs and complex designs should get 15–20% waste added for cuts and overlaps.
