Q1 How much waste should I add for flooring?
Add 10% for straight-lay installations. Add 15% for diagonal or herringbone patterns. Always buy extra to account for future repairs.
Q2 Is LVP or hardwood better for a kitchen?
LVP (luxury vinyl plank) is waterproof and more forgiving in kitchens. Hardwood is susceptible to moisture and may warp near sinks or dishwashers.
Q3 Do I need underlayment for LVP flooring?
Many LVP products have pre-attached underlayment. If yours does not, a 2 mm foam underlayment is recommended for sound dampening and comfort.
